Privacy Policy

Effective date: 2026-09-29

Thrivewell Capital (“Thrivewell”, “we”) is a Canadian business funding marketplace based in Vancouver, British Columbia. We help business owners apply once and receive offers from independent funding partners. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial laws, including British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act and Quebec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (Law 25).

1. What we collect

  • Contact details: name, email address, phone number.
  • Business information: legal and operating name, industry, legal structure, start date, HST or Business Number, business address, revenue, amount requested, and existing financing.
  • Owner information: name, home address, date of birth, ownership percentage, credit score range, and Social Insurance Number (SIN). Your SIN is used only to identify you accurately to funding partners and credit bureaus.
  • Documents: bank statements, transaction history, identification and any other documents you upload, and the signed application.
  • Bank data, if you choose to connect your bank account through a bank-data provider.
  • Website and device information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and, only if you accept them, analytics and advertising cookies (see section 6).
  • Communications: emails, text messages and calls between you and our team.

2. Why we use it

To review your application, match you with funding partners and present their offers; to prepare your application for e-signature; to verify identity and prevent fraud; to contact you about your application by phone, text and email; to meet legal and regulatory obligations; and to improve our website and service. We do not sell your personal information. Funding decisions are made by funding partners, not by automated processing alone.

3. Consent

By submitting an application you consent to the collection, use and sharing described here. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer, subject to legal or contractual limits. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer process your application. You can unsubscribe from marketing messages at any time using the link or reply keyword in the message.

4. Who we share it with

  • Funding partners that we submit your application to, so they can assess it and make an offer. Each partner handles your information under its own privacy policy.
  • Service providers working on our behalf under contract: cloud hosting and databases, e-signature, bank-data connection, customer-relationship management, email and text messaging, document processing, and, with your consent, analytics and advertising (such as Google, Meta and Microsoft).
  • Authorities when required or permitted by law.

5. Storage outside Canada

Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. While there, it may be accessible to authorities under that country's laws. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to Canadian law.

6. Cookies

Necessary cookies keep the site working and secure. Analytics and advertising cookies stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's cookies in your browser, after which the banner will ask again.

7. How we protect it

We use physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections (TLS), access limited to staff who need it, and contractual protections with service providers. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the relevant privacy regulator as the law requires.

8. How long we keep it

We keep application and transaction information for as long as needed to service your file and to meet legal and regulatory obligations, typically up to seven years after your last transaction with us, and then securely delete or anonymize it.

9. Your rights

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, and withdraw consent. In Quebec, you may also ask to receive computerized personal information you gave us in a structured, commonly used format. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia, or the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

10. Children

Our services are for businesses and are not intended for anyone under 18.

11. Changes

We post changes on this page with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify active applicants by email.

12. Privacy Officer

Questions, requests and complaints go to our Privacy Officer: Thrivewell Capital, Suite 310, 1281 Hornby Street, Vancouver, BC V6Z 0G8, or hello@thrivewellcapital.com (subject line “Privacy request”).
